Speereo Software is to release the new Windows Mobile application, Speereo Voice Launcher, pretty soon. I’ve decided to drop a few lines on what is it and who could possibly need this app.
The following text should be read carefully, but as a first step, just imagine that it really works. Many programs from recpected software companies failed to guarantee 1 thing. Voice operation should work on any device in any environment. Did we succeed? You’ll be able to find it out yourself.
Speereo Voice Launcher
So, why voice? Why not another advanced GUI with lots of animation? The answer is… it’s faster and easier. The 2,8 inch screen typical for mobile devices can hold up to 12 finger-friendly icons, max. With additional home screen data (date, appointments, weather e.t.c.) the valuable space for 1 tap application launch only decreases. The option is to have several screens for different types of applications thus increasing the number of taps and making it more time consuming to start the app you need, the other option is to decrease icon size while also sacrificing the usability.
Speereo Voice Launcher is designed to start applications and services by voice. The program rests in background letting user to see the status and customize the program via Today plugin, via floating bar (on top of any application running) or by voice commands being invisible. It is a revolutionary application that is intended to free your hands from tapping through menu and submenus. You can tag your favorite links and launch, for example, launch the browser and open page http://blogsearch.google.com by saying the phrase like “Search blogs”.
You don’t need to dictate your tag and or repeat it. You don’t have to learn anything or “teach” the program to make it understand your voice. You just need to add the application to the list (see pic) and tag it with a keyword. Then you just press and hold the button and say 1-2 words. The number of programs to be lauched by voice is unlimited. Cool, huh?
